WHAT TO EXPECT

We have a multi-generational attendance with a range of ages from children to senior adults, and worship styles to suit most tastes. Come early or stay late and enjoy free coffee or juice and muffins in our cafe on Sunday mornings. The cafe opens before the 8:30 service and stays open until after the 11:00 service.

HOW WE DRESS: Our attenders dress in a wide range of attire, from t-shirts and jeans to shirts and ties. You will feel comfortable in anything you wish to wear.

SERVICE STYLES

On Sunday morning, we offer two worship services. The first is the 8:30AM service and incorporates many timeless and classic elements of worship, with music driven mostly by piano and organ. The 11:00AM service is a modern take with guitar-driven worship, full praise band, and choir with various multimedia elements.

SERVICE LENGTH: Worship services usually last about 1 hour and 15 minutes with worship lasting approximately 45 minutes and the sermon approximately 30 minutes.

WHERE TO GO

If you come up the main drive, the first entrance you will come to is the main entrance. Through those doors is the foyer and the worship center is on the left. There is also an entrance from the parking lot which enters into our educational wing; the foyer is at the end of the hall and the worship center just beyond.

WHERE DO MY KIDS GO?: We offer nursery for children birth to 2 years for all services. During the 11:00AM service, we offer the Lil' Praise service for 3 years to Kindergarten, and Kidz Church for grades 1-5.

OUR CORE BELIEFS

The Broken Arrow First Church of the Nazarene is one church in a larger world-wide group of churches made up of people called Nazarenes.  You can visit the website for the general Church of the Nazarene at www.nazarene.org for more information on the denomination.  We invite you to also visit the Nazarene denomination web site and see the Preamble and Articles of Faith.

These are the beliefs Nazarenes hold to be true. They are common to Christians worldwide:

We believe in one God who has expressed himself in personal ways. We know God’s personality as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe the Bible communicates God’s saving message and is our reliable authority in all matters related to faith and Christian living.

We believe that all humankind struggles with a downward pull.

We believe that unless we experience God’s help and salvation through a faith commitment to Jesus Christ, our future is one of eternal separation from God and all that is good.

We believe the love and grace of God is extended to every person in the provision Jesus Christ made in his death and resurrection. By turning from our own selfishness and trusting Jesus Christ, we experience a new life, being freed from the old patterns of self–destructive acts called sin.

We believe our new life in Jesus Christ is the gateway to transformation. Following our moment of faith in Jesus, we believe there is another moment in which we present our life completely to Christ in order to live under his authority and to experience his transforming power.

We believe that Christian experience is more than a change of mind. It is accompanied by assurance that is grounded in both the Scriptures as well as the inner witness of God’s Spirit.

We believe that all who live for Jesus Christ have an eternal future. Our belief in such a future includes both the fulfillment of God’s creative purpose as well as the accountability of all persons endowed with the power of choice.
